Fryshuset in Norwegian partnership

Fryshuset has formed a longterm partnership with Forandringshuset in Norway. The partnership means that several of Fryshuset’s activities will be initiated from the 1st of January 2018.

Forandringshuset has recently been created by YMCA/YWCA in Norway with the purpose of “building open and safe communities, where children and youth can meet and develop themselves, strengthening their self-esteem and competencies, and of meeting the needs of young persons. The activities are built on the fact that all young human beings need to be seen and heard, to be given responsibility, trust and courage to be themselves and stand up for others.” To date there are Forandringshus in Oslo, Drammen and Loddefjord, but at least three more are in the pipeline during the coming years.

The partnership means that several of Fryshuset’s activities will be initiated in Norway. Unitied Sisters have already started activities in Oslo and the Speak Truth to Power programme (Robert F Kennedy Humans Rights) is on its way. Other Fryshuset programmes under discussion are Children of Single Mothers and MPower.
